Our Story
Gamila Muslimah was created from the love of Allah and to help others increase their love for our Creator. As a revert to Islam, our founder fell deeply in love with hijab after truly understanding its purpose. From that moment, it became clear: this love had to be shared with other sisters — and modest clothing that pleases Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'Ala had to be made easily accessible.
Our Mission
Our goal goes beyond running an online shop. We make du'a that we will be able to grow our business to help sisters in countries where beautiful, shariah-compliant modest clothing is either not accessible or not affordable.
We have seen many amazing sisters — in Egypt and beyond — who would love to wear Jilbab, Khimar, or Abaya that is 100% shariah-compliant, but are unable to access or afford it. Too often, this struggle makes it harder to build a connection with hijab, leaving sisters more vulnerable to western influences that bring temptation to reject it.
That is one of the reasons why our ultimate goal, insh'Allah, is to one day open our own line and make modest clothing accessible in countries where sisters struggle economically the most — so they can access it at a small price, or even for free.
Our Values
- Fear of Allah first — The most important value is taqwa. This business exists for the sake of Allah, no one else.
- Affordability & fairness — We keep our prices fair, as Allah has prescribed: "O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] business by mutual consent." – Quran 4:29
- Quality & modesty — Every piece we carry is selected to meet shariah-compliant standards, without compromising on quality or comfort.
- Community & sisterhood — We hope that Allah allows us to build a beautiful community with our customers, one that benefits our sisterhood and brings us closer to Him.
Why Hijab?
We believe it is important to share the beauty of the Quran and Sunnah regarding our beloved obligation — hijab.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'Ala says in Quran 24:31:
"And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments except what normally appears. Let them draw their veils over their chests..."
And in Quran 33:59:
"O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way it is more likely that they will be recognized as virtuous and not be harassed. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
When we understand that our hijab is to please our Creator — not creation — we can build a true and beautiful relationship with it. We are wearing an Ayah from the Quran, and earning our reward in Jannah insh'Allah with every single second we wear hijab for the sake of our Rabb.
"And that his effort is going to be seen. Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense." – Quran 53:40-41
